What should we do with Projects of the Week that have ended?
moleshow:
i feel like something should be done with them after they end, but what? should they be unlocked and moved? What Do?
suggestions are so, so welcome. please be detailed in what you think should be done! thanks.
goatie:
I think they should be moved to Album Talk and probably renamed to just the album/project title. 100 years from now, that's where people are going to look for these discussions; they won't want to sift through Project of the Week posts.
moleshow:
i like that idea. my only issue with it is that through sheer bad luck, we could end up with a PotW that isn't an album (i can only really think of a couple of things that are actively Not An Album, like Sam's Enchanted Evening or Randyland) and then it wouldn't really fit in there. what do ya think should be done at that point?
goatie:
Well if one were to create a new thread for Sam's Enchanted Evening right now, the only sensible place to put it is in Album Talk. So either you create a new section for "not really an album talk" (which I disagree with; stuff is confusing enough as it is), rename Album Talk to "Rz Project Talk," or just go with the fact that Album Talk is the most appropriate place and not worry about it.
goatie:
Oh, I don't like there being a million threads in Project of the Week for moved threads. Can't there just be one sticky post that says "hey, things move to the Project Talk area" instead?
And I think the threads, when they land in Project Talk, should not be titled "Project of the Week." At most, I'd allow this format: "PROJECTTITLE (Project of the Week for DATERANGE)." Again, I'm thinking of people coming in to the forum centuries from now, for whom these threads were never current.
